David Alston Smith's Obituary
David Alston “Smitty” Smith, 51, passed away March 18, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was born on June 15, 1961 in Memphis, TN. He graduated from Harding Academy in 1979 and attended Abilene Christian University and the University of Memphis. He was a historian who loved trivia and military history. He was well-known for his quick wit and dry humor. He worked in the restaurant and landscaping industries. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Harris Smith. He is survived by his son, William Cody Smith; father, Robert Milton Smith; brother, Daniel Harris Smith (Deborah); step-daughter, Emily Van Epps and her three children; and a host of family and friends.
