Darwin Wilson Michael, Sr.'s Obituary
Darwin Wilson Michael, Sr., 87, died Monday, November 30, 2009 at Methodist Germantown Hospital. He was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he was a deacon and treasurer. He was a member of Liberatos 376th Bomber Group. He served as a Captain and pilot of a B24 in 1942 WW II where he flew 37 missions. He retired from Met Life after 22 years. He was a graduate of Tech High School and also attended Memphis State University. He was also president of the Optimists Club and a member of the Millington Jaycees.Mr. Michael is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sue Michael, and four children, Wilson Michael (Jo) of Bartlett, Patrick Michael (Maritza) of Texas, Becky Smith (Henry) of Oxford, MS, and Constance Brandon (Jim) of Memphis; 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Deborah Michael Herring.Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church 8161 Germantown Rd. Olive Branch, Ms. the visitation begins Thursday at 12:30 p.m.
