Daniel W. Moore's Obituary
Daniel W. Moore, formerly of Memphis died June 17 at his home in Belleview, Washington, a suburb of Seattle. He was 87 years old. After serving in the U.S Army during World War II, he graduated with a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois in 1949. His work in landscape architecture and urban planning took him to Cleveland, Ohio, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jefferson City, Missouri, Lansing Michigan, Washington, D.C., New Orleans, Louisiana and eventually to Memphis in 1967. In Memphis and several other cities he was employed as a planner for Harland Bartholomew and Associates where he was involved in data collection and writing comprehensive plans for communities. He worked on site plan studies for highway locations east of the Mississippi river including environmental, social and economic impacts for locating highways. He also worked for William S. Pollard Consultants, the city of Memphis and the city of Germantown. Dan Moore was married for 55 years to Eleanor (Hoffman) Moore who survives him along with their four children, Daniel Moore of Portland, Oregon, Andrea Moore of Falmouth, Massachusetts, John Moore of Tokyo Japan and Mary Moore of Belleview.
