Daniel Lee Hollingsworth, Jr.'s Obituary
Daniel Lee Hollingsworth, Jr., 76, of Collierville, TN, died August 30, 2017 at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House. He was born in Dyersburg, TN to parents, Dan and Grace Wyatt Hollingsworth and was preceded in death by them. He is survived by Patsy, his loving wife of 54 years; son Trey Hollingsworth (Nora) of Atlanta; daughter, Jennifer Johnston, of Collierville; four grandchildren, Hayden and Daniel Hollingsworth and Matthew and Molly Johnston; sister, Diane Lominac (Charles) of Oxford, MS; and a large extended family.Dan “Danny” graduated from Dyersburg High School in 1959, completed his B.S. at The University of Tennessee, Martin, and earned his Masters +45 at the University of Memphis. After 34 years with the Memphis City Schools in various positions as a teacher, counselor, coach, and administrator, he worked as an adjunct professor for the University of Memphis. He touched many lives during those years and was loved by all who knew him. Dan was a member of the Collierville United Methodist Church and a former member of Bartlett Hills Baptist Church (formerly Raleigh Baptist Church).Visitation will be from 1:30-3:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 3 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Collierville United Methodist Church, 454 W. Poplar Ave., Collierville, TN 38017.
