Dana Colleen Finley's Obituary
Dana Colleen Finley was born October 20, 1978, to Nadine and David Finley of Memphis, Tennessee. Diagnosed with a rare condition called Turner Syndrome at birth, Dana never let her parents get away with treating her differently, training them from day 1 to appreciate her indomitable spirit. In spite of her diagnosis she lived a full life – never questioning if she could “DO” something. Dana attended Memphis Junior Academy through her elementary school graduation, then completed her high school diploma at Ozark Adventist Academy from 12th grade. She went on to earn her B.S. degree in Education and Psychology at Southern Adventist University. Dana worked at the Children’s Museum of Memphis for seven years, while simultaneously completing a Master’s Degree in Information & Library Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Online Program. Dana dreamed of finding a job in the Library Science field, a dream she continuously pursued throughout her work with Snappy Computers/Help Industries. She regularly volunteered at the Pink Palace Museum and the Germantown Library, and was chosen as Volunteer of Year for 2017. A special award ceremony is planned to take place in April. Dana is survived by her parents, Nadine and David Finley; her twin brothers, Brandon Finley and Marc Finley; her brother, Chad Finley, sister-in-law, Erin Finley, and one precious niece, Chloe Finley. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. and funeral services will follow at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 4 at Memphis First Seventh-day Adventist Church, 7895 Cordova Road, Cordova, TN 38016. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Memphis Junior Academy Library Fund at 50 N. Mendenhall, Memphis, TN 38117 Services have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis TN 38119. “Celebrating Life….Behind the Stone Wall.”
