Dan M. Palmer's Obituary
Dan M. Palmer departed this life on December 12, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 81.
He was born in Memphis on February 28, 1943 to the late Paul and Elizabeth Wilkins Palmer.
Mr. Palmer was a graduate of Memphis State University. He later founded and operated a charter air service called Palm Air as well as Concord EFS, Inc. where he served as Chariman and CEO. During his time, he grew Concord EFS, Inc. significantly and was recognized nationally for his work by publications like Investors Business Daily and The Wall Street Journal and was named University of Memphis Business School Alumnus of the Year in 2001 as well as the University's Distinguished Alumni Award in 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Bingham Palmer; a daughter, Donna Howard of Eads; a step-son, Jesse Brents of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; five grandchildren, Danielle Howard of Glendale, California, Brandon Simpson of Collierville, Tim Millette of Germantown, Stephanie Boggan (Steven) of Southaven, and Jennifer Battaglia (Rick) of Nesbit, Mississippi; two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Sadie Boggan; and a half-brother, Gary Arnold of Phoenix, Arizona.
Aside from his parents, Mr. Palmer was preceded in death by his first wife, Suzanne Palmer, and a daughter, Bonnie Millette.
