Dalton E Crawford's Obituary
Dalton Ellis Crawford, 94, died Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Memphis.A member of Crestview Christian Church, Mr. Crawford was also a Veteran, and member of Woodlawn Masonic Lodge. He retired first from the Rock Island Railroad Company after 23 years of service. He retired again from the United States Postal Service as a Safety Inspector. He was an avid tennis player who was very generous to a variety of Children’s Charities including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals.Mr. Crawford was preceded in death by his spouse, Virginia Bomar Crawford. He is survived by his two daughters, Sandra Crawford Bateman (Richard) of Jackson, TN, and Kay Jackson (David) of Memphis, one sister-in-law, Mary Crawford, one granddaughter, Jill Jackson Rymar of Knoxville, TN, and two great grandsons, Jonathan and Jackson.Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 Wednesday. Interment will be at 3:30 at Memphis Memory Gardens.The family requests that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or to Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals 2900 Rocky Point Drive Tampa, FL 33607 or to Jackson Christian School 832 Country Club Lane Jackson, TN 38305.
