Janet and I were so sorry to hear that Cynthia died. We enjoyed her company at meetings of the American Osler Society over the years, and I had a wonderful visit when she invited me to lecture. Her smile and good humour was infectious. A few of us remember the special spontaneous event when she bumped into Art Buchwald in the hotel lobby at an Odsler meeting and invited him to speak to the meeting, which he did and kept us laughing for a half hour. We will miss her.

Dear Allison and James, my heart and prayers are with you. I loved your mother dearly, and she was such an inspiration to her students at St Mary’s. I will always remember her mischievous smile as she recounted little known facts in history class. (just like the smile in this wonderful photo of her!) We will all miss her.
