Cynthia Goodwin's Obituary
Cynthia Goodwin, 75, passed away on September 8, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Cynthia was born in Andalusia, Alabama and spent her childhood in Winfield Louisiana later moving to Memphis where she graduated from Memphis State University with a degree in Business Administration. Cynthia served the United States Postal Service for 30 years, retiring in 2011.
After retirement, she spent her free time attending school, music and sporting events with her grand nephews and loved shopping, talking about anything related to fashion with her grand niece. Cynthia also had a special love for animals. She enjoyed pet sitting for friends whenever possible and always had a pet to love in her home.
Saturdays in the Fall, you’d find her cheering on the LSU Tigers. Her Louisiana roots ran deep and her family will be cheering on the Tigers with extra love and energy for years to come in remembrance of her.
Cynthia is proceeded in death by her parents Myrtis and Luther Goodwin and her brothers, John and Kenneth. She is survived but her niece, Jessica Hayden (husband, Joey) and their children, Christian, Brandon and Brooklyn who loved her and will greatly miss her wisdom, support and unconditional love.
The Memorial Service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct 5 at 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society or to a local animal shelter.
