Corrie Herington's Obituary
Mrs. Corrie Mae Bozeman Herington joined her Heavenly Father Friday, November 21, 2025 surrounded by loved ones, in Germantown, TN. She was born March 1, 1946 in Memphis, TN to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hussey Bozeman of West Memphis, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hussey Bozeman and in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Craig Herington.
Corrie attended East High School in Memphis, TN and the University of Memphis where she joined Pi Beta Phi Sorority making many lifelong friends. Shortly after, Corrie traveled the world as an airline flight attendant and explored a variety of other professional pursuits before taking on her favorite role as a devoted mother to two boys. A loyal supporter of her sons’ school sports activities for many years and active in a number of social circles throughout her life, Corrie’s friendships with coworkers, fellow moms, neighbors and others became her favorite pastime. She was also a faithful churchgoer establishing lasting relationships in both Lindenwood Christian Church and Grace Evangelical Church congregations through worship and Sunday School.
Corrie is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, William (Bill) Herington and proudly supported his military service and their family during active and reserve unit deployments including Vietnam and Desert Storm. She is also survived by son Jeff (Leslie) Herington of Collierville, TN and Brad (Jill) Herington of Franklin, TN and leaves behind four grandchildren: Avery Mae Herington, Olivia Jeanne Herington, Hudson Reed Herington and Carter Mitchell Herington. Corrie is also survived by two sisters Claire (Larry) Deaton and Virginia (the late Dr. Spencer) Johnson, brother-in-law Joe (Dee) Herington, three nieces, four nephews and their families.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Disabled American Veterans (https://ihelpveterans.org) or the charity of your choice. A visitation will be held on Monday, November 24th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119 in the Fireside Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 25th at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Evangelical Church, 9750 Wolf River Blvd, Germantown, TN 38129 with gathering and fellowship immediately following the service.
