Lt. Col. Clark A. Neal's Obituary
Lt. Col. Clark A. Neal, 93, died on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Delta Medical Center. In 1942, Mr. Neal received his Bachelors degree from the University of Arkansas and upon his graduation began his military career. He retired as a Lt. Col. with the US Army, having served in North Africa, the European Continent, and in Korea. After World War II, Lt. Col. Neal completed his Masters degree at Ole Miss, and continued Graduate Studies in Florence, Italy. Upon his retirement from the Army, he taught at the University of Mississippi. In 1965, he came to Memphis State University as Director of Research Administration. Mr. Neal is survived by his loving daughter, Lea Ann; one brother; nephews and nieces; and his best friend and caretaker, Sigrid Phillips and families. His only son, Clark Alan Neal preceded him in death. “This journey we all must go and each must go alone.” A visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 11-12. A funeral servcice will follow at Noon at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that memorial be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
