Clyde C. Weston's Obituary
Clyde Carl Weston, 95, of Cordova, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 24th, 2018 at Belmont Village Nursing Home. He was born on April 19, 1922 to the late Clarence Clyde Weston and Katherine Boschert Weston in Bourbon, Mississippi, where he was raised with three brothers and three sisters. After graduating from Arcola High School, he attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson, Mississippi. He was a member of the tennis team, a school cheerleader and voted most popular. He then went on to graduate from Delta State University. After graduating, he joined the Navy and served in World War II and the Korean War. He married Hazel Wright on Christmas day in 1949. They were lucky to share a loving partnership for over fifty years until her death in 2000. Clyde worked at Mutual of New York for over forty years where he was much loved and respected. He was a lifelong member of Woodland Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon. He married Wanda Rutland in 2006. They traveled and enjoyed life together until his death. Clyde loved people, loved to laugh and never met a stranger. He lived life to the fullest up until the end. He will certainly be missed by all those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Clarence “Jack” Weston and Frederick Joseph “Fred” Weston, and sisters, Louise Boschert “Lou” Weston and Carolyn Ruth Weston Cable. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Rutland Weston, two sons, Stephen Carl “Steve” Weston (Elizabeth) of Madison, Mississippi and Mark William Weston of Memphis, Tennessee, a brother, Curtis Moore “Curt” Weston of Caspar, Wyoming and a sister, Mary Katherine “Kitty” Weston of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He also leaves four grandchildren, Elizabeth “Lisa” Weston Jagar (Ross) of New York, New York, Stephen Carl Weston, Jr. (Taylor) of Memphis, Tennessee, Semmes Luckett Weston of Atlanta, Georgia and Lake Roberson Weston of Madison, Mississippi. The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, February 27th from 12-1pm with the funeral beginning at 1pm at Woodland Presbyterian Church, 5217 Park Avenue in Memphis. There will be a private family service at the cemetery following the funeral.
