Clifford B. King III's Obituary
Clifford B. King III, 76, of Bartlett, TN passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022, after a long illness.
He was born on May 11, 1946, in Memphis, TN to the late Clifford B. Jr. and Jeanne King. He was preceded in death by his brother John C. King and stepfather Roy B. Rimer.
Clifford leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Kathy; a daughter, Monica Adams (Dustin) of Townsend, DE; a stepson, Cliff Milam of Old Hickory, TN; two grandsons, Devin Chipoletti and Connor Chipoletti; and his sister, Jere Thompson (Pat) of Ooltewah, TN.
After graduating from Bartlett High School, Clifford received an appointment to the United States Coast Guard Academy. He spent two years there and then finished his bachelor’s degree at the University of Tennessee at Martin. He then went on to receive his master’s degree at the University of Memphis.
Clifford spent his career with South Central Bell/BellSouth as an engineer, retiring in 1991. Away from work, he enjoyed vacations in Gulf Shores, Al, waterskiing, and backyard pool parties with friends and family.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022, at 1:00 PM with visitation at noon, at Bartlett United Methodist Church.
