Cliff P. Cochran's Obituary
CLIFF P. COCHRAN, 87, died at Overton Park Nursing Home. He was the widower of Margaret Hembree Cochran. Cochran attended Memphis City Schools, Southwestern (now Rhodes College) and obtained a Masters degree from UT-Knoxville. During World War II, he served in the 7th Army Air Force, Pacific, was advertising manager at Sears in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, LA, owner/President of Cochran & Sandford marketing, advertising and public relations firm in Memphis, member of SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives), Co-founder of Memphis Transportation Museum, Instructor at the University of Memphis, President of Kiwanis Club of Raleigh, Chairman of Audit Committee, Senior Citizen Center, Elder of Raleigh Presbyterian Church. He leaves a son, James C. Cochran of Memphis; daughter-in-law, Deborah D. Cochran; daughter, Sarah C. Colvett of Memphis; son-in-law, Frank H. Colvett, Sr.; two grandsons, Christopher A. Cochran of Fayetteville, AR and J. Michael Cochran of Cookeville.Funeral service will be private.The family requests memorials be sent to: De-Neuville Learning Center, 190 S. Cooper, Memphis, TN 38104.
