Claude Martin's Obituary
Claude L Martin, 86, of Memphis passed away peacefully early Sunday morning after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife, Nell Wade Martin, his sons, Lee Martin, and wife Rosemary of Houston, TX, John T. Martin of Grand Rapids, MI, daughter, Jenny Foster and husband Jack of Dickson, TN, his stepsons, Ron Wade and wife Christy of Memphis and Jim Wade of Suwanee, GA. His grandchildren include Daniel Wade and wife Erica, Anna Bohnett and husband Jeremy, Logan Wade, Emily Owen and husband Ryan, Shara Carr and husband Russell, and Jeffery Martin. Great- grandchildren include Truit, Ethan, Alex, Evelyn, Jackson and Wyatt. His brother, Patrick and wife Anita Martin of Dickson and Mary Jean Field of Nashville also survive him. Claude was a Veteran serving in the US Navy during World War II. His working career began with Massie Ferguson Farm Equipment sales, but was spent primarily in Real Estate in the Middle Tennessee and Memphis area. He was a faithful member of Highland Church of Christ. In spite of a long history of vision disability, Claude was known for his constant smile, his lack of complaints and his continuous humor. Visitation will be held Monday, June 15 from 5-7 PM and the memorial service will be Tuesday, June 16 at 1:00 PM. All services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN.
