Clark Coleman Phillips' Obituary
Clark Coleman Phillips, 84, died peacefully in his sleep on June 2, 2009, from a broken heart suffered four years ago, after losing his beloved wife of fifty-nine years, Myra Joyce (Cuneo). He called her “Boots” and they had three sons, Jerry Phillips (Shellie), Joseph Phillips and James Phillips (Cheryl). Clark has been retired from Eastman Kodak and Dataplex for over 15 years and served in France during World War II. Boots and Clark raised two grandchildren and helped develop them into the devoted, loving, outstanding young men that are today. He was known as “Gimpy” to his 7 grand children, Joseph II (Brandi), Jason (Diane), Christopher (Brooke), Lisa, Jeremy, Jonathan, and Zachary Phillips. Additionally, they have four great-grandchildren, Maddox, Amelia, Bayla, and Cooper. He was always the strong influence to his family and continuously displayed honesty, love of his family, and devotion. His special soft spot was for his grand children and his wife. Clark was born April 8, 1925 to his parents Clark C. Phillips and Hazel Lee Brigance Phillips. He will be appreciated and always loved by those that knew him. He will be missed greatly. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home in the Riverside Chapel. A visitation will be held Wednesday night from 5 to 7. Entombment will be at the Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family requests that memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.
