Clarence E. "Rex" Baker's Obituary
C. E. “Rex” Baker, Jr., born December 7, 1942 to Marguerite and C. E. Baker, Sr., passed away at his home on March 27, 2014. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Tracy Baker. He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Denise Baker, who was born in Paris, France in 1942. Rex and Denise met in Memphis, TN and married four years later. He also leaves behind a sister, Carolyn B. Freeman, of Germantown, TN; a son, Barron Keith Baker, of Olive Branch, MS; a daughter, Krista Nicole McCagg, of Olive Branch, MS; two nephews, David and Stephen Freeman, and six grandchildren, Brian Baker, Nicholas Baker, Cody Baker, Caroline Fitch, Brock Baker, and Jacob McCagg, and one great-greatchild, Trenton Fitch. He attended Memphis State University and began his career at his father’s plumbing business then went on to become an investment banker and entrepreneur. He holds a U.S. patent for his Sewer Popper. He enjoyed taking his two younger grandchildren to Theme parks and traveling. Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, March 29, 2014 between 5 – 7 p.m. The funeral will be held at Memorial Park on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119, 901-767-8930, “Behind the Stone Wall”
