Clarence "Scooter" Herrington,'s Obituary
Clarence Goodwin Herrington, III of Memphis, Tennessee passed away unexpectedly on May 21, 2013. Born in Metairie, Louisiana on June 2, 1970, he graduated from Memphis University School and Rhodes College, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. A 1998 graduate of the University of Tennessee Medical School, he completed internship and residency training in diagnostic radiology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and fellowship training in musculoskeletal radiology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Herrington was a Radiologist with Diagnostic Imaging of Memphis, where he was a dedicated physician, colleague and partner. A loving son, nephew, brother, husband, uncle, and loyal friend, Clarence had a unique love of life. His many passions included spending time with family and friends, travel, cooking, gardening, listening to music, photography, watching sunsets, and supporting Memphis Grizzlies basketball and Tennessee football. He is survived by his wife Cathy Crill Herrington, his parents Cap and Betty Herrington, sister Lara Cohen and husband Ted, brother Duncan Herrington and wife Mary, aunt Bet Hendon, and in-laws Rick and Sandra Burt, Ken and Myra Crill, Kevin and Cindy Brewer, and Richard and Palmer Burt. He took particular joy in spending time with his beloved nieces and nephews, Maia and Margot Herrington, Charlie and Sylvie Cohen, Benjamin and George Brewer, and Finlay Burt, who will all miss their fun-loving Uncle Scooter dearly. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 25, at 9:30 AM in the Wilson Chapel at Christ United Methodist Church in Memphis, with services following at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital (848 Adams Ave, 38103) and the Memphis Grizzlies Charitable Foundation (191 Beale St, 38103).
