Clara Looney's Obituary
Clara Ford Hampton Looney, 90, passed away at Denton Regional Hospital, Denton, Texas on Friday, July 8, 2016 at the age of 90. Born in Lepanto, Arkansas, March 1, 1926 she was preceded in death by her parents, William Riley Hampton and Esther Ruth Hampton, her husband of 49 years, Henry A. Looney, a grandson, Jeremy Brown, and a sister Jean Thompson. Clara graduated from Harrisburg (AR) High School and Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. Clara was a Head Nurse for over 26 years as a Neuro Nurse at Methodist Central Hospital until she had to resign due to lose in vision. Clara was a member of Towering Oaks and Southland Baptist church in Memphis. After moving to Lake Dallas, she became a member of Lake Shores Baptist Church in Lake Dallas until the time of her death. Clara loved going to her weekly Ladies Bible Study and weekly lunches and shopping with her many friends. Clara leaves behind a son: Robert A. (Bob) Looney of Lake Dallas, TX, a daughter: Lisa Looney Brown (Tim) of Jonesboro, AR. She also leaves 3 grandchildren: Jason Looney, Aimee Looney and Kristen Brown, 3 Great grandchildren and a sister Billye Doyle. Clara also leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as many very dear and special friends both here in Memphis and Lake Dallas. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. and funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 12 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
