Clara Curry's Obituary
Clara Curry, age 102, passed away peacefully in her sleep, March 7, 2019 in Boynton Beach, Florida, where she lived with her daughter, Julie. She was born October 4, 1916, in Fairfield, Illinois. She lived most of her life in Memphis, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Lowell Curry; her son, Gary; her parents; seven brothers; and one sister. She is survived by one son, Jim Curry (Sandy) of Collierville, Tennessee; one duaghter, Julie Craig of Boynton Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren, Kim Curry of Fort Myers, Florida, Jennifer Kriesel of Russellville, Arkansas, Jeff Curry (Kristin) of Dallas, Texas, Cindy Borgognoni (Tommy) of Jackson, Tennessee, Steve Curry of Denver, Colorado, Emily Stuart (Mark) of Memphis, Tennessee, and Caitlin McGilton (Jason) of Boynton Beach, Florida; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She and her husband, Lowell, were founding and active members of AsburyUnited Methodist Church during their years in Memphis. Clara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was always available and there for those in need. She was an avid bridge player, loved the daily crossword puzzles, walked and exercised, doing all this well into her late 90s. She is loved and will be greatly missed by her surviving family. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 20 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
