Clara Bernice Weir's Obituary
Clara Bernice Weir, 87, passed away December 5, 2013 at her home. She was born July 24, 1926 in Madison Co., TN to Robert Frank and Cordelia Sellers Hopper. Like so many of her generation who came of age during the Great Depression, she was strengthened in her resilience and attitudes toward life. During World War II, she (like many other women) did her part at home: struggling with rationing, saving scrap metal and lard, etc. She was a member of Leawood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Olen Weir. She is survived by her children, Nanette Jolly (Phillip) and James P. Weir; grandchildren, Stephen Roland and James O. Weir, II; and great-grandchildren, Jenna, Calli, and Gentry Roland and Clara and Olen Weir. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Saturday, December 7 and funeral services will be 3 p.m., Sunday, December 8 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
