Claire James Cowan's Obituary
Claire James Cowan, 83, of Memphis, died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Trezevant Terrace. Claire, or Mimi to her family, had a joyful spirit and infectious smile that warmed the hearts of all those around her.She was an avid bridge player and always welcomed the opportunity to circle around the bridge table with her friends.Claire, the wife of Carroll H. Cowan Jr. for 53 years before his death in 2001, leaves two sons, James A. Cowan and wife Valerie, and Richard C. Cowan and wife Frances, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent to Trezevant Terrace, The Church Health Center, or a charity of the donor’s choice. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 3009, at 12:00pm at the Church of the Holy Communion with visitation to follow in the parish hall at the church.
