Cindy Lynette Soenksen's Obituary
Cindy Lynette Soenksen, age 57, of Memphis TN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, February 21, 2020. She is survived by her children, William Soenksen, Jonathan Soenksen, and Sarah Soenksen and her siblings Chuck Lewelling, Julie Defillipo, and Leah Kennon.
Cindy was born on December 4th, 1962, in Memphis, TN to the late William ‘Bill’ and Bobbie Lewelling. She graduated from High School at Harding Academy in Memphis TN, and received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Memphis. She worked at Oak Hall when she met and married her former husband of 23 years, Michael Soenksen. Michael and Cindy were married on November 14, 1987 in Memphis TN. For over 30 years, Cindy served as the Acquisitions Manager of the Memphis Public Library where she pioneered the adaptation of computers in the acquisitions process and remained employed up until the time of her passing. Cindy served as an active member of the Woodale and Southwind Churches of Christ, Macon Road Baptist Church, and Christ Church of Bartlett. Cindy was a truly compassionate spirit, a loving daughter, sister, wife, and mother who enjoyed caring for her children and always put the needs of others before herself. Jesus was always at the center of Cindy’s life. It is through her example that we experienced true, unconditional love, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends will gather from 6 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26th at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. A service celebrating Cindy’s Life will be held on Thursday, February 27th at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
