Christopher Norris Sullivan's Obituary
ROBERT H. “Zorro” JEFFREY, SR., 83, of Memphis, died February 9, 2011. He leaves his wife of 59 years, Betty Grace Jeffrey; his children, Robert Jr., Rush Jeffrey, Susan Loveless, Sally Wilson, Julie Olds and 11 grandchildren. He attended Central High School in Memphis, where he was a star athlete winning All-Memphis and All-State honors for Football in 1944. Bob attended Mississippi State University on a football scholarship, served two years in Korea and graduated in 1951. Upon graduation, Bob and Betty moved to Memphis where he was employed by Malone & Hyde. He enjoyed 40 years of service in a variety of roles from Produce Manager, Advertising Director, and Sales Manager, until his retirement in 1991. He won numerous National awards for his Advertising campaigns and in later years consulting on Produce Marketing strategies. Bob helped establish the Mullins Methodist youth football league, where he also coached baseball and basketball for many years. He was affectionately known as ZORRO to many for his golfing prowess and played at a high skill level until his late seventies shooting his age a number of times. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, February 12 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 13 at 1 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
