Christopher Charles Coleman,62, of Somerville, Tennessee, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 12, 2024 at his home. Born on June 21, 1962, in Memphis, Tennessee, Christopher led a life marked by devotion to his family and the Lord.
Christopher graduated from Bartlett High School and embarked on a fulfilling career as a Teamster and Assistant Terminal Manager at CF, where he was respected for his work ethic and leadership.
A man of faith, Christopher was baptized at Ellendale Baptist Church and was a dedicated member of Bellevue Baptist Church. His spiritual life was deeply intertwined with his daily activities; he found joy in reading the Bible, drawing, and writing down scripture. Christopher cherished spending time with his family, especially his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Stephanie Jewell Coleman and children Kelsey Coleman Jones (Jesse Jones), Brandon Lewis Foster (Christy O’Bryant Foster), and Christoper Cory Coleman (Jordan Coleman). He is also survived by his in-laws Richard Wood Jewell and Rebecca Ann Jewell, Stepmother, Laura Barr Coleman, his stepbrother Marcus Yoder and his stepsister Erika Yoder Chapman. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Liliya Faith Jones, Azaliya Grace Jones, Magnolia Hope Jones, Jesse River Jones (son, yet to be born), Kailey Marie Foster, Gracey Lynn Foster, Hudson Lewis Foster, Camila Cade Coleman and Gunnar Grayson Coleman. He was preceded in death by his mother, Melna Jo Clayton; brother, Victor Ray Coleman; and father, Hershel Ray Coleman.
Chris was a big fan of the Miami Dolphins. He had a passion for the outdoors, which was cultivated from a young age during family camping trips. His hobbies included listening to meaningful music, watching movies, and staying informed through watching the news and spending time with his loved ones.
His services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis, TN, on Friday, July 19th, 2024. Family shall arrive at 12:30pm. Visitation starts at 1pm and the service will start at 2pm. The committal will be at 3pm. Christopher's life and legacy will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
