Christeve "Eve" Robinson's Obituary
Christeve Skinner Robinson was born in Memphis on September 2, 1925, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Trammel T. Skinner. After a long life of happiness and optimism, Eve went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 17, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. James Aubrey Robinson, as well as her brothers and sisters: Bunnie Marie Skinner, Tommy Skinner, Jr., Charlie Skinner, Rosemary Hoehn, Candy Cartwright, and Ann Thomas. She is survived by her son, James Aubrey Robinson, Jr., and his wife Jessica; daughter Christeve Robinson Sanders and her husband Reid; son Dr. Wiley Thomas Robinson and his wife Shade, and son Robert Moseley Robinson. She also leaves seven grandchildren: Jay Robinson and his wife Lauren, Aubrey Sanders, Jesse Robinson, Bob Robinson, Jr., Reid Sanders, Jr., Fort Robinson II, and Trammel Robinson, as well as a great-grandson, Fort Robinson. Eve attended Hutchison School, Columbia College in Columbia, MO, and Southwestern at Memphis (now Rhodes College). During World War II, she served as a member of the American Red Cross Motor Corps, for which she received special recognition from President Harry S. Truman. A charter member of Christ United Methodist Church and its Kingswood Sunday School Class, Eve was an active volunteer for many clubs and organizations, which benefitted from her energy and positive perspective of considering all glasses to be half-full. Some of her favorite memberships included the King’s Daughters and Sons, Le Bonheur, Duration Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, Woodgrove Garden Club, Circle of Flowers Garden Club, and Les Bon Livres Book Club.Eve loved all things associated with the outdoors, particularly hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and golf. She was never happier than when she was by the seashore–especially in Destin, FL and Sea Island, GA, where she spent many joyous vacations with her family. Eve Robinson was a humble and loving woman with an extraordinary zest for life–even its smallest pleasures. She was the biggest cheerleader for her family and friends–tremendously proud of their successes, loath to take any of the credit, and always seeing the best in everyone. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 22 in the Parlor at Christ United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the Wilson Chapel. Her family requests memorials be directed to Christ United Methodist Church, the Church Health Center, or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall”
