Cheryl Ann Henderson Mitchell's Obituary
Cheryl Ann Henderson Mitchell, 77, passed peacefully on June 26, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Cheryl was born on June 13, 1947, in Memphis, TN. She attended Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School, Sacred Heart High School, and graduated from Frayser High School class of 1965. After graduation she married the love of her life, Chip Mitchell. She had a long-time career as a receptionist at Fogelman Properties.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey “Chip” Mitchell, Jr., her parents William Kemp and Emile Herbers Henderson, and her brother William “Bill” Henderson, Jr.
Cheryl is survived by her brothers Ronnie Henderson (Shirley) and Danny Henderson, daughters Kelly Bunch (Brent) and Wendy Mitchell, and 6 grandchildren Hayley Bunch, Mitchell Bunch, Ashton Bunch, Bradley Scott (Sarah), Cameron Scott, and Josh Irons who loved and adored her dearly.
Cheryl found joy in her Catholic faith. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church for over 45 years. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, dinners with family, and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren of whom she was so very proud. Cheryl was the life of the party and a joy to be around. She loved her friends and family immensely.
The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home located at 5668 Poplar Avenue on Monday, July 1, 2024, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm for the visitation. A rosary will be held in her honor at 6:30 pm. A Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church located at 203 S. White Station Road on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 10:00 am. The burial will begin at Memorial Park Cemetery at 11:30 am. Reception to follow at the Bunch home located at 124 Poinciana Road.
Memorials may be sent in Cheryl’s memory to the American Cancer Society, Catholic Charities of West Tennessee, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are trusted with Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, Tennessee 38119. "Where Memphis comes to remember, since 1924"
