Cheryl Ann Gibson's Obituary
Cheryl Ann Trepanier Gibson, born September 22, 1949, passed away on March 2, 2026. She was one of the strongest women we have ever known.
She was hard-working to her core. Work wasn’t just something she did, it was who she was. She believed in earning everything, in showing up no matter how tired you were, and in pushing through when things were hard. She instilled that same work ethic in all of us. Because of her, we know how to stand on our own two feet.
She was stubborn, beautifully, fiercely stubborn. When she believed in something, she held her ground. That strength carried her through life’s challenges, and even when it wasn’t easy, it taught us resilience.
Our mom loved to help others. If someone needed something and she could give it, she would. She showed her love through action, through long hours, sacrifice, and unwavering loyalty. She didn’t always say it in soft ways, but she loved fiercely. And when she loved you, you knew you were protected.
Family meant everything to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley Mae Narovich Trepanier and Donald John Trepanier; and her brothers, Robert Trepanier, Raymond Trepanier, Donald Trepanier, and David Trepanier.
Cheryl is survived by her loving daughters, Heather Marie Gibson Markovich and Stacy Renee Gibson; her son-in-law, John David Buchanan; her sister, Constance Trepanier Lich; her nephews, Jason Lich and Nickelas Trepanier; and her nieces, Kristina Lich, Jenae Trepanier Howard, Nicole Trepanier Butterfield, and Victoria Trepanier Maldonado. She also leaves behind extended family members and many dear friends.
Her strength lives on in us. Her work ethic lives on in us. Her fierce love lives on in us.
We are proud to be her daughters. Even in loss, we are grateful for the lessons she taught us and the example she set. She shaped who we are in more ways than we can count.
She will be missed every single day, but she will never be forgotten.
Written with love by her daughters,
Heather Marie Gibson Markovich & Stacy Renee Gibson
