Charlotte Henrietta Runnion's Obituary
Charlotte “Nanny” F. Runnion, resident of Hot Springs Village AR, formerly of Memphis TN, passed away on December 3rd 2017 in her home, at the age of 98 years. She was born in Hartford KY on June 24th 1919 to Michael and Sally Federspiel. She married Harry L. Runnion and had two daughters Sherran Runnion and Harriett Runnion Crews. She retired from General Electric after 35 years. During her time there she was one of the founders and V.P. of the 474 IWEB Electrical Workers Union through which she fought for better wages, hours, and benefits for herself and her colleagues. When she wasn’t working she enjoyed bowling, playing cards, reading murder mystery novels and making Christmas candy, most of all she cherished spending time with the family she loved so dearly. The joy of her life and the depth of her love will always be remembered as she will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, especially by her family, her daughters: Sherran Runnion, and Harriett Crews (Hilliard), her grandchildren: Theresa Werling Fike (Mitchel), Suzanne Fournier (Todd), Jason Crews (Michelle), and Stacy Crews McGee (Roger), nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. She was predeceased by her husband Harry Runnion, her mother Sally Federspiel, her father Michael Federspiel, and her sister Elma “Tuck” Crawford Rasmussen. Visitation will be held on December 9th at 10:30am followed by a service at 11:30am at Memorial Park in Memphis TN. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. and funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, December 9 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
