Charlotte Cole Miller's Obituary
Charlotte Cole Miller, born on March 24, 1941, in Columbus, Mississippi, left this world peacefully on November 8, 2024, in her beloved home city of Memphis, TN, at the age of 83. For those who knew her, Charlotte was truly an unforgettable force of nature.
Over her long and fulfilling life, she managed to balance strength and love, never shying away from telling it like it is while ensuring those around her were cared for with unparalleled warmth. She spent an impressive 30 years working at First South Financial, instilling the values of dedication and hard work in her colleagues and customers alike.
Charlotte wasn't just a pillar in her professional life but also the shining heart of her family and friends. Known to many as "Nana," she excelled in spreading cheer and wisdom, always serving as the compass guiding her family through life's twists and turns. Whether solving daily life's conundrums or leading holiday gatherings, her joys were deeply tied to the people she loved most.
She was an avid reader and could solve crossword puzzles at the speed of light. She loved to travel whether it be long road trips with Chuck or fabulous trips with their daughters and friends.
Charlotte is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Charles "Chuck" Miller, with whom she shared a remarkable life full of adventure and love. She also leaves behind two cherished daughters, Amy Miller Wade (Jason) and Gina Miller Grace (Wesley), who carry forward her legacy of love, resilience, and strength. Her beloved grandson, Chase Stewart Chiozza, whom she forever doted, supported, and loved fiercely, Jacob Wade (Katie), her amazing step grandson, who spent many holiday dinners at Nana and Pops, and Fitz and Cooper Grace whom she welcomed to the family with open arms. Her sisters, Vicky Cole Writesman (Joe) and June Cole Childs (Terry). Her nieces and nephews, Robin Dorris (Robert), David Hodges (Simone), Stacy Sellers, Janet Davis, Carson Clement (John), Maggie Halford (Scott), Rachel Ragghianti (Pat), Cole Childs, Phillip Dorris, and many LOVED grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Milton Earl Cole and her mother, Roy Dee Cole (affectionately known by her family as Dee Dee). Her sisters, Nancy Cole Clement (Jim) and Susan Cole Berry (Danny). Her nephews and niece, Brett Sellers, Sarah Childs, Wade Halford, and Taylor Halford. Her son-in-law, Tommy Deutsch.
A memorial service to celebrate Charlotte's life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 2:00pm with a visitation prior starting at 1:00pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home.5668 Poplar Ave Memphis, Tn 38119. As we gather to remember her, let us honor her memory by sharing stories, laughter, and love, just as Charlotte would have wanted. She may no longer be in our midst, but her spirit shines
