Charlotte Jean Mason's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charlotte Jean Mason. She passed away on May 7, 2023, surrounded by her children.
Born August 13, 1939, Charlotte was a lifelong Christian, and her faith was the guiding force in her life. In addition to her religious devotion, Charlotte was also a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a loving and supportive spouse to her late husband Hugh Gordon Mason, and together they raised a beautiful family that she was immensely proud of. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she never missed an opportunity to express her love and admiration for them. Her constant companion was her sweet and loyal pug, Oliver Winston (Ollie). Together they loved to sit outside on the porch and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband Gordon, parents Arthur Neely and Marjorie Burnwatt, and brothers Neely Jr. and Charles (survived by Sandy). She is survived by her daughter Lori Atkinson, son John Mason (wife Gail), brother Marlin Burnwatt, sister Barbara Larson, grandchildren Jennifer Ainsworth (Andrew, Dylan, and Hunter) and Christopher Mason (Melissa and Matthew).
Throughout her life, Charlotte was known for her generosity and kindness toward others. She was always willing to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word to those in need.
She may have left this world, but Charlotte’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched. Her legacy of faith, love, and kindness will continue to guide us all, and we are grateful for the time we had with her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
May she rest in peace and be welcomed into the loving embrace of her Creator.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, May 11 at 9:00 a.m. with a graveside service to follow at 10:00 a.m. all at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery
