Charlotte Rawls Hill's Obituary
Charlotte Rawls Hill, 58, of Memphis, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021.
Charlotte was born in Pontiac, Michigan to Voltaire and Willie Mae Loggins McKinney on September 7, 1962. She started school at Selfridge Air Force Base in Mt. Clemons, Michigan and moved to St. Louis, Missouri and then Duck Hill, Mississippi where she graduated from Duck Hill High School in 1980. She furthered her education at Northwest Mississippi Junior College where she completed her internship at NJ Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Memphis, Tennessee prior to receiving her license in Mortuary Science whereupon she went to Brookhaven, Mississippi to work at Taylor Funeral Home. She continued to pursue her education in Anniston, Alabama where she studied Forensic Science. That is where she met and later married Robert L. Rawls. To that union was born Malcom Voltaire and Trevor Stephen Rawls. She moved back to Mississippi to be closer to her parents and there she met and married Albert L. Hill.
During her life she eagerly expressed her love for God, Family and her Church. She worked diligently at the Grenada Police Department before moving back to Memphis where she began working at MS Carrier (Swift) while obtaining her realtors license, completing her BS Degree and then obtaining her Masters Degree in Operational & Quality Management from the University of Arkansas. Being promoted to a better position she went to JNJ Trucking. Charlotte leaves in loving memory; her mother, Willie L. McKinney; two sons, Malcom and Trevor; three sisters, Gwendolyn McKinney, Valerie Ann McKinney and Thresa McKinney; on grand-daughter, Mela; one niece, Kendra LaRue Roberts; one nephew, Vicotr Lamar McKinney; three great-nieces, Shelby Lynn Ward, Jamayla Marion and Victoria McKinney and one great-nephew, Victor Lamar McKinney, Jr.
The family will receive relatives on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 1:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis.
