Charlotte Bracke O'Shaughnessy's Obituary
Charlotte Bracke O’Shaughnessy, 91, was received into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, January 17, 2017. She was born August 12, 1925. Mrs. O’Shaughnessy graduated from Villa Madonna Academy, a girls’ school on the Ohio River, and she attended Edgecliff College in Cincinnati, Ohio.Mrs. O’Shaughnessy was the wife of the late Lawrence Victor O’Shaughnessy. She had two sons, Michael O’Shaughnessy (Mary Ann Dillavou) and Daniel O’Shaughnessy (Dora); three daughters, Maureen Rowan (Robert), Margaret “Meg” O’Shaughnessy, and Carolyn Waters. She also leaves five grandchildren, Paul O’Shaughnessy, Devon Birch, Chase Rowan, Victoria Waters, and Benjamin Waters and four great-grandchildren, Patrick O’Shaughnessy, Will Birch, Karolina O’Shaughnessy, and Emerson Birch. She was predeceased by her sister, Pauline Schilling.She moved to Memphis in 1951. Mr. and Mrs. O’Shaughnessy were founding members of St. Louis Catholic Church, where they were lifetime members. Mrs. O’Shaughnessy was a member of the Madonna Circle, Cenacle Retreat League, Beaux Arts Club, and Oak Grove Garden Club.The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. and a memorial service will follow at 3 p.m., Saturday, January 21 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Her interment will be private in Memorial Park Cemetery.The family requests memorial donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, St. Louis Catholic Church, or a charity of the donor’s choice.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis TN 38119.
