Charles Winston's Obituary
Charles William Winston, 82, of Memphis, passed away to be with Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, October 18, 2010. He leaves his love of his life and best friend, June Sennett Winston. His daughter Barbara Winston Canerdy and son-in-law Jim Canerdy, five grandchildren Bert Suggs, Helen Marie & Justin Williams, Nigel Winston Suggs, Heather Leia Suggs and Jaclyn Alaina Canerdy. Four great grandchildren Aleia Marie Suggs, Charles Cody Suggs, Presley and Cayson Williams one of his closest friends W.T. and Jayne Shinault. Charles was preceded in death on earth, but life with Christ by his beloved father Lowell O’Neal Winston, his mother Carrie Ingram Winston, his brothers Marvin Dwight Winston and Lowell O’ Neal Winston, Jr., whom he loved with all his heart. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and loving friends.Charles was born in Tuckerman, AR and has lived in Memphis, TN for 72 years. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict; as part of Unit 347th Engineer Aviation Group at Camp Beale, Marysville, CA. He worked for W.K. Ingram Construction and retired from Shelby County Engineering Department after 21 years of faithful service. We invite our family and friends to celebrate Charles’s life and journey to be with Christ. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 on Friday, October 22, 2010 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at St. Anne’s Highland on Saturday, October 23, 2010, at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. Anne’s Catholic School at 706 S. Highland Ave, Memphis, TN 38111.
