Charles Ronald Stephens, Jr. 61 of Horn Lake, MS born on March 15, 1963 exhaled his last breath on Earth to inhale his very first breath in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 17, 2024.
He is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Sanders. Sr. He leaves behind his wife Shannon, his daughter Lauren Stephens, his stepchildren Tyler Chrestman, Faith Mcdonald, and Hunter Chrestman and also his Goddaughter Ashley O'Dell. He leaves behind his mother, Pamela Sanders, sister Stephanie Stephens, brother Johnny Sanders, Jr., sister Susan Coleman, and his sister Angel Easterling. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and an abundance of friends.
Ron grew up in Memphis, TN and went to ST. Joseph Catholic School during his elementary/middle school years. He served as an altar boy and was a member of the DeMolays. He graduated from Oakhaven High School. Ron worked for Sunbeam in the early mid 80's. Ron was a Contractor for over 35+ years and would spend endless days in the elements working on his job or helping someone. Ron was a friend to all and never met a stranger. He was always a call away to help anyone in need. He was a kind, generous, funny and loving man. He loved all of the kids, his family, and friends. He would always try to make us all smile and laugh. Ron was one who loved to and could tell stories for days on end. He could entertain friends and family alike with his amusing, humorous, and sometimes embellished stories from his childhood and life.
Ron loved this country and was very patriotic. He was an avid special mineral/gem rock collector, coin collector and loved Elvis's music. He loved all of his pets over his lifetime. He had a passion for exotic fish, and birds/parrots. His two favorite pet accomplices, his Umbrella Cockatoo "Sugarbird" and his faithful companion our Boston Terrier Georgia. Sadly, Little Miss Georgia Girl - Ron's "Precious Georgia" that was always by his side for 12 years passed away 3 days later, grieving the loss of him. They are both in heaven together along with all of our loved ones. We are comforted knowing we will see them all again in heaven.
Ron leaves behind the legacy of being known by all as someone who would help whoever he could if he had it and sometimes when he did not have to give. The family asks that you find time to focus on your faith, your family, being a helper, and loving each other as Christ loves us all.
We greatly appreciate all the calls, text, and prayers. Ron was dearly loved, and he will be greatly missed.
Services for Ron will be led by Rev. Howard French (who also married Ron and Shannon) on January 18, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 28119. The visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Any and all are welcome to pay their respects.
