Charles Murrell Marks' Obituary
Charles Murrell Marks, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 26, 2009. He was born to the late Robert Edward and Annie Pettigrew Marks.Charlie was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. He grew up in Tchula, Mississippi and was a graduate of Holmes Jr. College and Mississippi State University. He served in the Marine Corp during World War II. Charlie retired from the City of Memphis after 25 years of service. In later years, he retired from Federal Express.He leaves his wife of 54 years, Nat Marks. He also leaves a loving family of 2 children: Mary Ann Weaver (Murrell) and Jack Marks, 3 grandchildren, Haley and Katie Marks and David Weaver. He is also survived by his brother, R.E. Marks of Santa Ana, California.The visitation will be held from 2-5 pm on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The funeral services will be Monday, March 30, 2009 at 1:00pm. Interment to follow.The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis Union Mission or Wings Cancer Foundation.
