Charles Allan Long's Obituary
Charles Allan Long, 91, passed away on May 1, 2013, to be with the Lord and make Heaven a happier place. Born near Gainesville, TX, he dreamed of being an acrobat in the circus, but became an amateur radio operator, an air traffic controller, and the father of three devoted sons. The first in his family to graduate from college (at the age of 56), he was also a multi-talented builder and an artist. He was married for 66 years to Norma Jean Anderson Long, who survives him, and leaves his three sons, Allan (Connie), Charles (LeAnn), and Kerry, six grandchildren (Charlie, Kristin, Kelly, Tyler, Carter, and Samantha), all of the Memphis area, and through the marriage of a son, two more grandchildren (Tyler and Lindsey) and two great-grandchildren (Madelyn and Hailey), all in Canada. He was the most loving and wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His warmth and sense of humor blessed all who knew him and left an impression in their hearts forever.
