Charles "Charley" Hood's Obituary
Charles Leonard “Charley” Hood, 60 of Memphis was surrounded by love as he peacefully crossed over on Friday, March 18, 2016. Charley, a master of tales and jokes and lover of music, art and history, was a true friend to many. A 1974 graduate of Overton High School, he worked as a master carpenter until his final days. Many will continue to enjoy Charley’s exceptional craftsmanship. ‘Hood’ never met a stranger; he could make anyone feel like the most important person in the room. His first concern was always for others, and to leave you with a smile on your face. His father, Robert Hood, preceded Charley in death. Survived by his cherished love, Sandy Saed Leinberg; mother, Dorothy Parker Hood; sister, Betty Hood; brother, Mike Hood; nieces, Dana and Sarah, and his nephews Jody and Cody. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 26 at 1:30 pm with graveside services at 2:30 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Donations in Charley’s memory can be sent to Levitt Shell, or Wolf River Conservancy.
