Charles Edward Harden's Obituary
Charles E. Harden, 82, of Atoka, TN, passed away on March 19 after a battle with cancer. Charlie was born on November 14, 1940, to Girtha and Ephrom Harden in DeVall’s Bluff, Arkansas. After graduating from Brinkley High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was a proud member of the Submarine Service, retiring as a Lieutenant. He attended NC State University and Navy Nuclear Power School. After retiring from the Navy, he worked for a contractor and then started teaching at (then) State Technical Institute at Memphis, eventually retiring there as well. During this time he earned a Master of Science degree from Memphis State University. Charles was predeceased by two brothers and one sister, Danny Harden, Arelon Harden and Laverne Nicholas. He has one surviving brother, Louie. His surviving family, Betty Sue Harden (wife) Ed and Billie Harden (son and daughter in law) Sierra Harden (granddaughter) Charles F. Owens (brother in law) the families of Chris Owens (nephew) Corey Owens (nephew) Rhonda Schurhamer (niece) the family of Louie Harden (brother) and others will miss him dearly. He now joins his other shipmates on eternal patrol. Fair winds and following seas.
