Charles Grisham's Obituary
CHARLES M. GRISHAM, 79, of Memphis, died April 18, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 20 from 5-8 p.m., with a Masonic service at 7 p.m., and services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, April 21, all at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Grisham was born August 23, 1931 in Dumas, MS to Marshall and Willie Mae Grisham. He was a retired Exxon dealer and owned and operated four service stations in the Memphis area. He also owned Charlie’s Corner and Good Time Charlie’s, where he was known for making great pizzas. Mr. Grisham attended Hope Presbyterian Church, a veteran of the Korean Conflict, a Mason, member of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner and served as potentate of Al Chymia Shrine Center in 1998, and was a charter member of the Order of the Q. He recently worked for Jimmy T Woods/Fuller Dock until his illness forced him to quit. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucille Richardson, Christine Crawford, and Movaline McCall, seven brothers, Leland Grisham, Avery Grisham, Arnold Grisham, Malone Grisham, Marshall Grisham, Roger Grisham and Marlin Grisham. He leaves his wife of 39 years, Jackie Loden Grisham; one daughter, Debbie Grisham Tate (Romon) of Hernando, MS; one son, Marty Green (Sherri) of Collierville, TN. He was Papa to his four grandchildren, Forrest Tate, Carlie Tate, Cooper Green and Connor Green. He truly loved all of his grandchildren and loved watching all of their sporting events. He also leaves four sisters-in-law, Frances Grisham of Southaven, Mildred Grisham of Memphis, Virginia Grisham and Ruby Grisham, both of Ripley, MS; two brothers-in-law, Pat Gresham of Ripley, MS and Hugh Loden of Tupelo, MS; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Family requests that donations be sent to the Shriners Hospital for Children or charity of donor’s choice.
