We only learned recently of Chuck's passing and wanted to offer our sincere sympathy to his loved ones. We worked with 'The Rifleman' at Adesa Memphis, back in the day, and his 'boogety, boogety' chant was a work of art as he sold the cars! He was a class act. As an auctioneer I have to say this as Chuck would say it " He was the best factory automobile auctioneer in the world "... I would agree with that we sold thousands of cars together when we traveled for Toyota, Hyundai and Mitsubishi all over the U. S. . There will never be an auctioneer of his caliber on the block and by todays standards The biggest auto auction company does not appreciate this kind of talent and thats ashame. My father was tough but fair. I remember a particular Monday which happened to be report card day. I was never a good student and my report card reflected that fact. However, we -David and Daddy - also had a standing date with my Uncle Clyde for wrestling every Monday night. I dreaded the time between showing mom my grades and daddy's arrival to get David and me. Dad got home and there was complete silence. He came in David's and my room and gave me a choice. He said I could stay home and not take a whipping or take the whipping a go to wrestling. I took the whipping.
Chuck was a great friend and help to my father. They played golf and volunteered at Audubon Golf Course. My father then was in his mid eighties to early 90s! Chuck was always very helpful to my father and I will always be very grateful for his caring. Chuck was OK in my book and the world lost a good one!
