Charles Bennett's Obituary
Charles Roosevelt Bennett was born in Blaine, MS, November 5, 1932. He passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the age of 88. He was proceeded in death by his parents Arthur and Flossie Bennett, his wife, Donna Sue Clifton Bennett of 65 years, a son, Charles (Chuck) Michael Bennett, daughter in law, Julie Bennett Oliver, and seven brother and sisters. Mr. Bennett is survived by his son, Randal Lee Bennett and his wife Mary, five grandchildren, Justin Bennett (Marianne), Ashley Bledsoe (Jordan), Leslie Cook (Bryan), James Bennett, and John Mark Oliver (Elizabeth), four great granddaughters, Marjorie Bennett, Annie Kate Bledsoe, Mary Elizabeth Bledsoe, and Jules Cook.
Charles was raised on a farm in Blaine, MS and served in the Air Force. He worked for John Deere for 31 years. He was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church. Charles enjoyed working in his shop building birdhouses and even a doll house for his granddaughters. He also loved yard work and having a lawn service with his son Randy. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
The visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The funeral service begins at 1 p.m., Wednesday January 13, also at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials in Mr. Bennett’s honor can be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
