Celia Albonetti Stovall's Obituary
Mrs. Celia Albonetti Stovall, a life-long Memphian and a resident of Kirby Pines, passed away on July 11, 2009 at Kirby Pines Manor. She would have been 96 on July 27.Mrs. Stovall was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Earl B. Stovall and her son, Bill Stovall. She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Jensen (Chuck) and a sister, Claire Carroll.Mrs. Stovall was an active member of the Catholic Church of the Resurrection, where she belonged to their Forever Young group. Over fifty years ago, she started the Memphis Ladies Sports Bowling League at Imperial Lanes; Mrs. Stovall retired as Office manager of the J.C. Penney Company. In addition, Mrs. Stovall was an eighteen year volunteer in the St. Francis Hospital Gift Shop and logged over 3200 volunteer hours. She also worked in the Kirby Pines Gift Shop and was a member of the Kirby Pines Line Dancers. One of her favorite pastimes was knitting and making ravioli with her children and grandchildren.Survivors also include six grandchildren and their families; Shawn Christopher Jensen from Dallas, Texas; Charles Stovall Jensen, Jackie Jensen Hart and Joy Jensen Hanusek from Atlanta, Georgia, Leah Stovall Bailey from St. Louis, Missouri and Russell Stovall from Bella Vista, Arkansas. Mrs. Stovall had nine great-grandchildren; Shannon, Cliff, Jensen, Jeb, Hollis, Austin, Maddie, Sean and Russell Jr. and three great-great grandchildren; Cieli, Cora and Charlie.Visitation will be Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 9 a.m. with the Funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at the Catholic Church of the Resurrection.
