Cecil W. Bailey, Jr.'s Obituary
Cecil W. Bailey, Jr., 87, of Memphis, TN passed away at his home on Monday, February 8, 2010. Mr. Bailey retired from the Union Pacific Railroad after 46 years of service. He was an Army Veteran serving in the 100th Infantry Division. While in the Army he fought battles in France and Germany. He was a member of Lamar Heights Baptist Church and served as deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Church Training Director, and choir member. He was also an active member of Cherry Rd. Baptist Church and served at deacon and choir Member. Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife Echol Bailey of 63 years; two daughters, Jere (Elvis) Davis of Olive Branch MS, and Phyllis (Larry) Gullett of Germantown, TN. He is also survived by his two sisters, Wanda Jones of Sandersville, MS, and Linda Wray of Tallahassee, FL; a brother, James Alva Bailey of Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren, Alan (Jennifer) Davis, Scott Davis, both of Southaven MS, Trent (Elizabeth) Gullett, Justin Gullett, Lauren Gullett all of Germantown; three great-grandchildren, Allison, Emily, and Austin Davis all of Southaven, MS. The visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 9 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 10 also at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
