Catherine Ledbetter's Obituary
CATHERINE HESTER LEDBETTER passed away on Monday, June 13, 2011 at the age of 86. She was the widow of Andy Franks Ledbetter, Jr. They shared a happy marriage for 54 years and reared three daughters. Mrs. Ledbetter was a loving wife, devoted mother, and proud grandmother of seven and an interested great-grandmother of seven pre-schoolers. She was always delighted to hear news of her family and ever concerned with their paths in the world. She brightened up with reports of their progress from pre-school to medical school. She was born in 1924 in Dyersburg, TN but moved to Memphis as a young child. She was the only child of Thomas and Etta Hester. For the last few years, she made her home at Franklin Park Retirement Residence, where she has some sweet friends and was assisted by a wonderful and loving caretaker, Angela Jackson. She leaves her three daughters, Sherry Moore (Tom), Toni Kaiser (Kai), both of Memphis and Mimi Harrison (Dee) of Knoxville, TN. Her seven grandchildren include Melissa Amrhein, Andy Moore, and Michael Moore, Catherine Martin and Lauren Kaiser, Blair Harrison and Shea Harrison. Her seven great-grandchildren, Olivia, Davis and Sophie Amrhein, Kaiser and Mary Catherine Martin, all of Nashville, and grandsons, Colin and Griffin Moore of Springfield, Missouri complete her legacy. She will be missed by her dear cousins, Charlotte Comes and Norman Faulk of Memphis, and Peggy Kinney, Myrtle Walker, and Laura Rivers Gage of Atlanta. The visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, June 15 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, with a burial service for the family to be held at a later time. Memorials may be sent to the PKD Foundation, 8330 Ward Parkway, Suite 510, Kansas City, MO 64114-2000, West Clinic of Memphis, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
