Catharine I Elmore's Obituary
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Elmore, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Catherine left this world peacefully on June 1, 2026, at the age of 78. She was born on August 20, 1947, in the town of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to her parents, David and Vivian Douglas, who have since predeceased her.
Catherine, known as Cathy, was the wife of the late Randy Stevenson Elmore, with whom she shared a marriage of nearly 47 years. Their love story began with their vows on October 7, 1979, and together, they built a life filled with adventure. Cathy often spoke of their many camping trips, fishing excursions, and scuba diving adventures that took them to many places and created memories that would last a lifetime.
An intelligent woman, Cathy dedicated her professional life to serving as a Fiscal Accounting Clerk for the US Navy.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Cathy had a passion for nurturing and raising animals. A proud member of the AKC dog breeding community, she devoted much of her time to raising Boston Terrier and Chinese Shar Pei dogs.
Cathy is survived by her stepsons, Keith and Steven Elmore, who she loved as her own. Her love extended to her daughter-in-law, Lisa Elmore, and her grandson, Austin Elmore. Cathy’s legacy lives on through her great-grandchildren, Addilyn and Lucas Elmore.
Though we mourn the loss of Cathy, we also celebrate the life she led. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her husband Randy and her parents.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119 (901) 767-8930.
“Where Memphis comes to remember, since 1924.”
