Carroll Wheeler's Obituary
Carroll Moss Wheeler passed away peacefully on September 4, 2014. She was born June 3, 1929, and grew up in Dyersburg, Tennessee. She loved her dogs, her grandchildren and her family, respectively, first and foremost. Carroll was blessed to be married to the love of her life (no finer man existed) George T. Wheeler. She had innumerable remarkable friends. Carroll was both a life-long St. Louis Cardinal fan and a Democrat. She loved nature, poetry-especially that of Bill Brown, music and Memphis Lightning Baseball. The outdoors were her chapel of choice. She loved to laugh and was delighted when she shocked people. She is preceded in passing by her parents, Tom and Elise Moss, and by her beloved daughter-in-law, Jeri Wheeler. She is survived by her husband, George T. Wheeler; her children, George T. Wheeler, Jr. (Debbie Coy-Wheeler) and Carroll Elise Wheeler (Bob Westmoreland); her grandchildren, Andrew Hunter Wheeler (Megan) and Rachel Laurence Cantrell (Greg), and her brother, Tom R. Moss (Ginny). Visitation will be 5-7 Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Please send any memorials to Rachel’s Kids, Inc. (rachelskidsinc.org) 2486 Poplar Avenue Memphis, TN 38112 or to the Memphis Humane Society.
