Carolyn Edwards Morton's Obituary
Carolyn Edwards Morton, 86, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 after an extended illness. A resident of Arlington, Tennessee, she was born in Pollard, Alabama to the late Gertrude Mooney Edwards and Albert Hill Edwards.She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Frederick G. Morton.She is survived by her only son, the Rev. Dr. Frederick G Morton, Jr. of Arlington, Tennessee (wife Denise) and three grandchildren: Nastia, Nicholas, and Erick as well as her brother Charles Edwards of Orlando, Florida and her beloved nieces and nephews.Mrs. Morton was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett as well as having been a longtime active member of Balmoral Baptist Church in Memphis. She enjoyed cross-stitching, coffee, and working puzzles and will be remembered by her family and friends by her love and care for them.Visitation will be 4-6 p.m., Sunday, July 28 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. A committal service will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday, July 29 at the Rotunda of West Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery.As an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to HopeHouse International, A ministry that builds homes for Ukrainian families enabling them to adopt Ukrainian children (P.O.
