Carolyn Hamlet's Obituary
Carolyn Hamlet went to be with our Lord on February 7th, 2024. She is survived by her daughter, Jayne Hamlet Mitchell (Blaine), her sons Edward Trump Hamlet Jr., and Richard Lucian Hamlet Sr. (Ginger), her grandchildren Natalie Hamlet Metcalf (Andrew), Stephanie Hamlet Turner (Chris), Richard Lucian Hamlet, Jr (Paige), Hunter Sisson Hamlet, Edward Trump Hamlet III, Joshua Trump Hamlet, Zachary Tye Hamlet, along with seven great-grandchildren. Carolyn graduated from Conrad High School in Newport Delaware, then the School of Nursing in Wilmington, Delaware, where she earned her Registered Nurse designation.
She was formerly employed by the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, working in the labor and delivery department. Additionally, she served on the ministry staff of Second Presbyterian Church and Christ United Methodist Church in Memphis, TN for many years, with responsibilities within the ministry care and member support programming. Throughout the years, she volunteered regularly to assist evangelical ministries in the Memphis area. At the time of her death, she was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She was a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, with a passion for testifying of the goodness of the Lord in His gospel mercies. She was a student of the Bible, as God in His grace gave her a love for His Word. She was a Bible Study teacher, teaching ladies regularly for many years within the established Community Bible Study Fellowship group curriculum. Her legacy consists of the many women in which she was able to invest her time and energy, assisting many with their spiritual walk in the Lord.
She was known as Mimi by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved sports and enjoyed having friendly conversations over coffee.
Her funeral will be on Sunday Feb 11th, 2024 at 2 pm in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue in Memphis. Visitation will precede the funeral service at 1 pm.
There will be a private family graveside service.
