Carolyn Woodall Goebel's Obituary
Carolyn Woodall Goebel, 93, passed from this life on July 25, 2017. She was born in Brinkley, Arkansas on Nov.14, 1923 to Harry and Marjorie Nash Woodall. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy L. Goebel, her stepdaughter, Joyce Stanton and two sisters, Dorothy Woodall Richardson and Marjorie Woodall Diffee. Carolyn was a graduate of Brinkley High School and The Methodist School of Nursing. She attended Manhattan EENT Hospital in New York City, N.Y. for her post-graduate work. She was the president of Methodist Alumni and the first president of Memphis Operating Room Nurses. She was very active in many organizations such as the Friendship Force, The Wonder Series and the LWML at Messiah Lutheran church and a member of OWLS. She enjoyed golf at Colonial Country Club where she held several offices and was a member of the 9-hole International Club Group. She was larger than life and will be missed by many. She leaves her niece, Stacey D. Schingle of Walls, MS, three nephews, Bill “Sonny” Richardson of Birmingham, AL, Harry L. Richardson of Banks, AL, Ray Richardson of Knoxville, TN., a step-daughter, Rudy Lee Reddish and two step-grandsons, Greg and Bret Stanton. She also leaves several great nephews and nieces. Services will be held Sunday, July 30 at 4pm with visitation at 3pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
